The world that we live, and love has changed so much and all of us are learning to be more adopting and flexible when it comes to so many things. Personal hygiene and sanitization were always a priority for Makeup Professionals, but this Pandemic has lent a whole new meaning to it.
At Makeup By Rekha Krishnamurthy, we are constantly keeping ourselves informed and prepared about all the Covid Protocols and ensure that we are practicing everything as per the guidelines. We regularly sanitize our Makeup Products and Tools and also keep ourselves hygienic at all times. We firmly believe that both Clients and our safety is of utmost importance and we do not take anything lightly.
Today I will share some personal hygiene & sanitization steps meticulously followed me as a professional makeup artist and should be followed by all the makeup artists due to the raising concern over global pandemic Covid-19 or Coronavirus.
Below are some of the most important hygiene guidelines we as makeup artists should follow to keep you safe from all kinds of skin and viral infections.
Our hands are the most common carriers of bacteria and virus. It is important for your makeup artist to wash their hands with soap or sanitize their hands before they touch your face.
Surface area can hold bacteria and virus for longer period, infecting the things which are kept on it. Thus, disinfecting the workplace thoroughly before and after every client is utmost important. Make sure your makeup artist follows this step without fail.
Your makeup artist should use fresh mascara and lip wands, cotton swabs and tissues to keep you away from infections. Make sure they use fresh disposables for each application as dipping twice will defeat the purpose of it and they should sanitize their professional makeup brushes using a professional makeup brush cleaner before using it on you.
Stainless steel spatulas are much easier to clean and sanitize at workplace. All makeup artists should be using pallets for products such as concealers, cream shades, and foundation. This will help avoid double dip and prevent the contamination of the product.
We cannot use disposables for some of the products like eye shadow pallets, powder compact and foundation bottle heads etc. I use at least 70% alcohol disinfectant spray to neutralize the virus & bacteria on those surfaces. It should be used on the makeup kit of every professional makeup artist before it is packed.
Continue to adapt the hygiene routines and sanitation procedures to keep yourself & your clients safe during this pandemic time.
We fully understand how distressing and demoralizing it may be to plan and execute your Wedding in such a testing time. We therefore, would be happy to extend our full cooperation and provide you a hazzle free & pleasant Bridal Makeup experience.
